There’s always work to be done around the WATER office! We would love to have you come help us.
Volunteers help keep the WATER office running! Volunteers attend programs, network, and gain work experience.
If you would like to volunteer at WATER please contact our office and let us in on the gifts that you have to share. We need help on a regular basis with:
Updating the Resource Center
Keeping us up-to-speed with technology
Sending out mailings
Getting ideas and help for fundraising
…and so much more. Your time and talent keep WATER flowing.
Call 301.589.2509 or email dneu@hers.com, and let’s get you involved!
Volunteer Spotlight
Joe Scinto is one of our most loyal and frequent visitors and volunteers at the WATER office. Motivated by his commitment to equal rights for women and the LGBTQ community, and by the memory of his late wife Carol Murdock Scinto—another long-time volunteer and friend, and the person after whom our library is named—Joe comes into the office about once a week to help with our day-to-day operations, share lunch or coffee, and brighten our day.
Volunteer Spotlight
Cheryl is an educator at her core, a longtime friend and colleague at WATER. She has a heart for service whether at the local food pantry, tutoring immigrants in English, fostering elderly dogs, or the myriad other ways in which she gives, gives, gives to this world. WATER is lucky to count on her attention and talent.
